What the record shows

  • MCFARLAND SOLAR was filed on 2015-04-30 and reached commercial operation on 2025-04-09 — just under ten years in the queue.
  • PALOMAS SOLAR, filed the same day as MCFARLAND, withdrew within eleven months.
  • All three requests filed on 2016-05-02 withdrew. Two went within a year; SIGNAL PEAK stayed four years before withdrawing in 2020.
  • WHITE WING RANCH SOLAR has been recorded as active since April 2014, longer than either built project took to reach operation.
  • Six of the thirteen requests at this node have no resolved outcome in the dataset.

What a decision record would have to make explicit

  • This node shows the widest spread between request and operation of the four reviewed here, which makes time-in-queue itself a material input to a development decision.
  • Because six requests are unresolved, any comparison at this node has to remain explicitly open rather than concluded.
  • The record shows duration and outcome only. Study results, upgrade costs and siting constraints are not present and remain unknowns.

This is a reading of a public dataset, not a customer case study: no engagement, customer or client is involved. The dataset records outcomes — what was built, what withdrew, and when — but not why any project withdrew, so no cause is attributed here. Nothing on this page claims GridVision predicted, influenced or would have changed any outcome, and a pattern at one point of interconnection does not generalise to another.
