Most capacity that enters a U.S. interconnection queue never reaches operation. These tables show how that differs by region, resource type and request year, from Berkeley Lab's Queued Up: 2026 Edition.

Requests filed from 2000 to 2020, sorted by the share of requested capacity that reached commercial operation. In every region the share by capacity is lower than the share by number of requests, which means the requests that reached operation were smaller on average than those that did not.

Outcomes at individual points of interconnection range from every request built to every request withdrawn. The public-record retrospectives read the same dataset one node at a time, and the guide to staying in the queue or withdrawing sets out what to check before the next commitment.

Figures are Berkeley Lab's own tables from the Queued Up: 2026 Edition data file (interconnection requests through the end of 2025), republished under CC BY 4.0. Shares are calculated over every status the tables report, including suspended requests. Completion and withdrawal tables cover the seven ISO/RTOs and the non-ISO balancing areas with complete status data; durations cover projects that came online from 2005.
